The melody of Mulberry Bush can easily be adapted to practice motor movements for communication skills of low-functioning children.

Activities[]

Piggyback: To the tune of "Mulberry Bush," sing the new words: "This is they way we clap our hands, clap our hands, clap our hands, this is the way we clap our hands, during music time!" If needed, use hand over hand prompting, visual aids, use of voice switches, or sign lanuage. Continue the song with additional verses including patting legs, stomping feet, waving hello, nodding head yes, shaking head no, and sign "more".
